Designer, model and actress by day, “drag queen by night”, Shaughnessy Brown is the femme fatale of high fashion. A true chameleon, Shaughnessy evolved from girl-next-door into an edgy, unconventional beauty, renowned for her strong, striking features, signature choppy bangs and modern goth aesthetic.
“I was the chosen one, the Luke Skywalker of Orlando, Florida. I was scouted in my teens, finished school and moved to LA, then New York, to try my hand at the dice roll that modelling and entertainment is,” is the way Shaughnessey tells it. The dice recently rolled on Rodarte, Lula, i-D, Gucci, Harper’s Bazaar, POP, V and Interview, and that’s just in the last year or so.
A force of nature and a face worthy of film noir, Shaughnessey smoulders in her current incarnation but has covetable personal style, a captivating smile and a cool charisma - all of which captured the attention of Meadowlark’s New York stylist, who cast her in the cult brand’s latest campaign, Stratus.
“Bex Sheers, who’s a genius art director, reached out to my agent about the project. We thought it was a good fit as Meadowlark designs sit very naturally with me and I would have worn the brand regardless. The designs are timeless - if you wore them 30 years ago they would have been as relevant as they are now.”
